Traveling Golf Society

A Traveling Golf Society . . . A Tradition Revisited

In the mid 1800's golf in the British Isles was starting to gain popularity due to the development of the rubber ball. The low cost of the ball made the game considerably cheaper and therefore available to more people. As a part of this new interest in the game, groups of avid golfers formed the first Golf Societies and played golf as a healthy form of exercise and competition prior to socializing with their friends for a drink and dinner. There were very few golf courses available to play, so the golf societies would travel together and play golf where the new golf venues were located. New courses were only added to the list from recommendations made by fellow golfers. The society was the center point of the activity, not a particular golf course.

Nothing much has changed in 150+ years. Golf is a game of tradition and traditions pass on from one generation of golfers to another. Today millions of avid golfers travel from course to course with their foursomes to take on new challenges in pursuit of their avocation. The ClubShare™ program has been organized for people who want to belong to a group that have a similar passion for the game. They will play for any reason and in all seasons. There is no time off for the avid golfer. Their quest is to play as often as possible in search of the elusive secret of golf- perfection. RTCI's goal is to create the ultimate platform for this player- a variety of challenging and unforgettable venues.

Golf greatest asset is the memories it creates for its players and fans. Golfers reflect on their greatest golf memories but also look forward to creating new memories from future planned golf events. It's always about the next great course they are going to play or their dream golf vacation where they must go before they die. Avid golfers are fanatical about their sport. It controls their planning for vacation and business trips. If you are still reading this you may fit the profile.

Making Memories: Most golfers when asked can recall their greatest golf memories: a hole in one, competing in a club championship, playing an exclusive private club, beating a fellow golfer that always beats them.
